The Texarkana, Texas, Police Department in March achieved a formal recognition by the Texas Police Chiefs Association for its standard of excellence as tested against the association’s accreditation and quality assurance program.

The TTPD received its award at the March 2008 Texas Police Chiefs Conference and is one of five to receive the prestigious recognition. Also recognized for excellence are Longview, Texas City, Canyon and San Angelo.
