The executive director of Red River Redevelopment Authority has resigned and a new acting director has been named.

After eight years as executive director, Duane Lavery turned in his letter of resignation to the RRRA Board of Directors on Tuesday. Bill Cork, current deputy director of operations, has been named interim executive director.

Lavery and RRRA Board president Dennis Washington said the decision to resign was mutual.

“I think it is time to bring in new perspectives, new ideas to the park,” said Lavery.
