Texas-side police arrest 2 drug suspects

Texarkana, Texas, police and Bowie County sheriff’s deputies arrested two drug suspects attempting to flee detention in the vicinity of Main and West 14th streets Tuesday night.

Law officers charged Richard Steel, 36, with evading detention and Roderick Thurman, 28, with evading in a vehicle, said Bowie County Sheriff’s Deputy George Huggins. Both suspects are from Texarkana, Texas.

Pursuit of the suspects began after both law agencies received information about both suspects traveling in a green 1996 Malibu and possibly transporting illegal narcotics, authorities said....
