A recent lightning strike at Fouke City Hall caused an estimated $5,000 in damages, Fouke Mayor Terry Purvis said during the council meeting Thursday night.

The lightning hit occurred during a severe thunderstorm April 27, he said.

“It hit all the computers and networking. It also hit the electronics for the water well and the sewerage lift station,” said Purvis. “We have it all repaired and it’s back up and running.”
