A Texarkana, Texas, man was arrested Friday and charged with sexually abusing a 6-year-old girl at his home, officials said.

Joey D. Lucas, 29, has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony, said Bowie County Investigator Tina Lee. His bond was set at $250,000.

If the victim is younger than 14, the sexual assault offense is considered more serious and and becomes an aggravated sexual assault.

Lucas was arrested after the girl’s mother informed police her daughter was raped, Lee said.
