Distribution of a nine-year-old news article has become part of the Miller County sheriff campaign regarding the dismissal of one of the candidates, Ron Stovall, from the Arkansas State Police.

However, omitted from circulation is a follow-up article in 1999 saying the Arkansas State Police Commission reinstated Ron Stovall as the captain for Troop G headquarters in Hope, Ark.
