Todd Martin, a native of Red Lick, won a seat on the Red Lick Independent School Board after a landslide victory over Todd Sangalia, a day care center worker.

The final vote tally was 226 to 18, according to unofficial results. There was also one write-in vote.

Martin, an employee at the Texas Department of Public Safety, ran on the platform of democratically elected school board members to encourage constituent involvement, building teacher morale and watching the number of transfer students.
