Texarkana, Ark., School District officials say they are not sure why a 7-year-old student was left sleeping in a Kilpatrick Elementary School classroom and found there two hours after school dismissed, a spokesman said.

“The classroom teacher woke her up before walking the students to the bus area. Then she (the teacher) went back to the classroom to gather her things, closed the door and left. She (the student) must have walked back to the classroom and gone back to sleep,” said Genia Bullock, TASD spokesman.
