Funds will pay family’s expenses, medical for accident victim

A softball tournament turned benefit Saturday at Redwater City Park raised funds to benefit a 3-year-old accident victim and his parents while at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Konner Sykes, 3, of Redwater is “all boy.” He was hit by a truck on May 4 and sustained critical injuries to his head, chest and abdomen.

His parents, John and Amanda Sykes, were at the hospital in Little Rock on Saturday, but the town’s love for their family gave them “presence” at the park.
