Dancing dignitaries, antique automobiles and bluegrass bands were among the sights at Monday’s celebration of Arkansas Tourism Day, held at the Arkansas Welcome Center.

The celebration was a fun way of touting tourism’s importance to Texarkana and to Arkansas.

“Tourism is the No. 2 industry in our state,” said Texarkana Ark., Mayor Horace Shipp. “It’s very important from an economic standpoint.
