Astronaut talks of space travel, stresses education

NASA Astronaut Col. Lee Joseph Archambault told Josh and Martha Morriss Elementary students about traveling more than 5 million miles over 14 days as the pilot of the space shuttle Atlantis.

“It took three days to get to the Space Station,” Archambault told kindergarten and first-grade students in Pod A.

Archambault’s visit was part of the congressional field hearing discussing kindergarten through 12th grade science, technology, engineering and math education on Monday.
