An $887,491 state grant to build an amphitheater was recently awarded to Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas (CCCUA) in De Queen.

The grant is funded by the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council.

“We were pleased to have our grant funded the first time we applied, particularly since we had only five minutes to make our case,” said Vice Chancellor Steve Cole.

The amphitheater will be constructed on the east side of the CCCUA De Queen campus.

The facility will have a seating capacity of about 4,000.
