Hempstead County Hunting Club has filed a federal lawsuit against Southwestern Electric Power Co. asking that preconstruction work at the proposed Fulton, Ark., power plant site be halted.

The hunting club is asking for a temporary restraining order to stop SWEPCO’s preconstruction activities, and a hearing on the request is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Texarkana federal courthouse before U.S. Judge Harry Barnes of the Western District of Arkansas.
