The wife of a man who helped her husband avoid prosecution by faking his death recently had a court date on a separate charge in Nashville, Ark.

Tyra Nicole Cook, 23, pleaded guilty to a hot check violation in Nashville May 7 in the Howard County Circuit Court.

She is a prisoner in the Miller County jail and was transported to Howard County to enter her plea.

As a plea bargain for the hot check, Cook made restitution and paid $320 to Andy Gitchel. The hot check was written in January 2007 and Cook was originally charged with a Class C felony.
