A maintenance man at the Forest Point apartment complex on Kennedy Lane was injured Wednesday in an explosion involving chlorine, authorities said.

Residents reported hearing three explosions coming from the direction of the swimming pool shortly after 5 p.m., officials said.

Texas-side police and fire departments responded to the incident along with the Texarkana Office of Emergency Management.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to a local hospital but his injuries were not considered to be serious.

No other injuries were reported.
