AIDS walk fund-raiser

Special Health Resources for Texas Inc. will have its first East Texas Aids Walk fund-raiser from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Spring Lake Park.

The event is a joint effort to raise funds and awareness of HIV/AIDS.

All money raised from the event will be used to fund services provided by Special Health Resources, including testing for HIV, syphilis and Hepatitis C. Special Health Resources also provides treatment services to people who test positive for HIV or syphilis. Event organizers are hoping for a big turnout for the walk.
