Talk at a public forum Thursday concerning the future of freight through Texarkana turned to developing Red River waterways and creating more options for rail transport.

The meeting was the last in a series recently offered by the city Metropolitan Planning Organization to gain more public input in planning.

Studies on freight concerns by the Texas Department of Transportation and the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department were presented, giving an overview of present and possible features for rail, air, highway and water transportation.
