With a vacant seat on the City Council, Texarkana, Texas, has opened the door to citizens interested in representing Ward 5.

Mayor Steve Mayo said four people have approached him with interest in taking over the position he recently left.

“They’re just sending a letter of interest and a resumé,” Mayo said. “Then we’ll start the interview process.”
