FEMA offers assistance to locals

Financial help available for severe weather victims

Victims of recent severe storms, tornadoes and floods can now apply for help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency at the Mobile Disaster Recovery Center in Texarkana, Ark.

The center is offering “face-to-face help” in applying for financial assistance from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration, said Linda Downing, a FEMA public information officer.

The help is for those affected by storms that hit between March 18 and April 28.
