A Texarkana man has been indicted by a Bowie County grand jury for allegedly embezzling money from his mother.

Bruce George Cannedy, 57, appeared before District Judge Leon F. Pesek Jr. for arraignment Tuesday. Cannedy entered a plea of not guilty to a single count of theft of $20,000 to $100,000 from an elderly individual.

Cannedy is being represented by Texarkana lawyer Howard Mowery.

Mowery said he could not specifically comment on the allegations.
