Bowie County District Judge Ralph Burgess decided Thursday to reject the plea of guilty made by a man accused of shaking his infant son in 2002. Instead, Burgess wants to wait until the child has begun school to better evaluate the effects of the shaking on the child’s brain. He scheduled Bruce Guillaum Jr., 37, for a jury trial in December to face a charge of injury to a child under 15 years of age with serious bodily injury.
