Poet laureate Clayton Scott of Fayetteville, Ark., visited Arkansas High School last week as part of the ArtSmart program, giving pointers on how to be a good slammer.

He spent several days working with classes on incorporating all the required Arkansas Frameworks in writing, school officials said.

“Oh, and when you have Clayton at your school, get ready for a movement through Slam Poetry,” said a message on the Arkansas Arts Council’s Website.
