A Bentonville, Ark., company claims the jelly giant Smuckers is putting the squeeze on its business by infringing on patents, according to a federal lawsuit filed earlier this month.

The suit, filed May 16 in the Marshall division of the Eastern District of Texas, claims Smucker’s said no thanks to the technology developed by Bentonville based Mack-Ray Inc. in 2003. The technology at issue involves squeezable bottles with attached spreaders that rest on their lids.
