Arkansas Archaeological Society annual training program slated in June
The Arkansas Archaeological Society’s annual training program in archaeology will be held June 14-29 at the Jones Mill Site near Hot Springs, Ark. Participants will work in the field, classroom and in the laboratory. The excavations will be directed by Dr. Mary Beth Trubitt of Henderson State University.
The research project will answer questions about how Indians chipped stone tools from Arkansas novaculite. Work was begun at the site last summer and the excavations in June will uncover more evidence of Indian tool production, food-getting activities and other aspect...
