Weekend events scheduled at the Cossatot River State Park will include nature hikes and programs regarding “Life on the Gravel Bar” and a family scavenger hunt.

The park is 9 miles east of Wickes, Ark., on Arkansas Highway 278.

A nature hike is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sunday. Park interpreter Stephen Walker will direct a half-mile guided hike along the Cossatot River. Walker said hikers should wear appropriate shoes and no flip flops or sandals. He also suggests they bring water and sunscreen. The hike starts at the sandbar campground information board.
