The deadline to purchase a page to honor pets in the Tails of Two Cities day planner was extended to June 16 because of slow sales.

“We changed the deadline to give people a little more time to get their pictures and applications in,” said Jan Nelson, committee chairman. “It’s been a little slow so far but it’s picking up nicely. I think two more weeks might help folks rethink their decision ... to be a part of the day planner.”

The promotion raises money for the Texarkana Animal Shelter and is used to provide care for the animals.
