Woman will serve 10 years probation for stealing $51,018
An Ashdown woman who embezzled more than $50,000 from the Arkansas Farm Bureau in Texarkana pleaded guilty Thursday to theft and received10 years of probation.
Ethel Carolyn “Carol” Ross, 63, was a secretary when she stole $51,018.77. Ross’ defense attorney, Mickey Buchanan, told Miller County Circuit Judge Joe Griffin his client had already paid $10,000 in restitution. Griffin ordered her to pay the remaining $41,018.77 at the rate of $800 per month. In October of 2006, police were dispatched to the Farm Bureau located in Texarkana, Ark., regarding a theft ...
