Love for horses and a desire to see them properly cared for drew out hundreds for a live auction and exhibition held Saturday at the Four States Fairgrounds to benefit the Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society.

The BEHS encompasses all of Texas and Arkansas as well as part of Oklahoma. It has about 500 members who investigate animal cruelty, said Director Tonya DuBois.

“We have taken in more than 250 horses in a little over three years,” said DuBois. “And we have place nearly half in adoptive homes.”
