Water woesRuptured main leaves city dry

The CenterPoint crew was digging in the area when the line was accidentally punctured. Subsequently, the entire system was shut down leaving Queen City residents without service. A boil order has been issued. A CenterPoint Energy crew, reportedly digging at a site near the city’s water well on Pecan Street, struck a major line, knocking a large hole in the pipe, a city official said. The miscue precipitated a citywide system shutdown and triggered a flood of calls to City Hall from residents left high and dry.
