The University of Arkansas Board of Trustees has named Chris Thomason as the next chancellor of the University of Arkansas Community College campus at Hope, school officials said.

Board member Dr. Alan Sugg made the recommendation on Friday during a board meeting at Winthrop Rockefeller Institute on Petit Jean Mountain near Morrilton. The decision was unanimous.

Thomason, a prosecutor, attorney and former Arkansas legislator, expressed gratitude to the university and community.
