Wise wins election for constable position

A winner has been declared in the runoff election held Tuesday between two Republican candidates for the Miller County Constable District 8 position.

Charles “Chuck” Wise Jr., garnered 11 votes to Michael C. Griffin’s eight votes in the runoff election, county officials said.

Wise and Griffin were the only two who filed political practice pledges. Wise, the winner, will not face a Democratic candidate in November. The race has been decided.
