Texarkana, Ark., School District hosted the MAX workshop Tuesday for 110 teachers in 16 districts throughout Southwest Arkansas.

MAX stands for Motivation, Acquisition, and Extension—a reading and writing workshop teaching classroom activities to help students learn new subject matter while acquiring literacy skills.

Don Eichenberger, Springdale High School literacy instructor, conducted the two-day workshop at Arkansas High School.
