Unsure about regulations regarding the co-mingling of municipal funds, the Red Lick City Council agreed Thursday to table a municipal budget change measure.

The measure would have taken $45,550 in unbudgeted funds from the city’s general reserve fund and used $45,350 of it to buy about 4 acres for a possible future city hall, park or ball field. The remaining $200 would be placed in the city’s postage fund.

The council decided to consult the city’s accountants before taking unbudgeted funds and putting them in budgeted line items.
