A 2-year-old girl was taken to Wadley Regional Medical Center after relatives found her face down in a backyard swimming pool Wednesday evening.

The incident was reported about 8 p.m. Wednesday at a home in the 1900 block of West Sixth Street in Texarkana, Texas.

EMTs worked to revive the girl at the scene and she was taken by ambulance to Wadley. The girl’s condition was not known at presstime.

Neighbor Eric Poe said he performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the girl until the ambulance arrived.
