Divers probe murky depths for gun used in store clerk’s death
WILTON, Ark.—Divers spent Monday exploring the murky depths of Wilton Landing, searching for the alleged murder weapon used in a Nashville, Ark., homicide.
Investigators received a tip the pistol might be in the water late last week and began the search about 8:30 a.m. Monday, said Arkansas State Police Special Agent Hays McWhirter. The search was a difficult one. Divers estimated the water was more than 20 feet deep in some places and described it as “black water” with zero visibility.
