Though she had seen both of her grandparents battle cancer, Cindy Moon-Scheckenaichner didn’t think it would ever happen to her.

But it did.

On Jan. 4, 2007, Cindy was diagnosed with liver cancer. It’s a battle she continues to fight today.

“It’s been tough. I went through seven different types of chemo. Some were rougher than others. The doctors kept trying until we found a combination that worked,” Cindy said.

Once the tumor was shrunk by chemo, it was time for surgery.
