LEARY, Texas—Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are still investigating the cause of a one-vehicle accident in the westbound lane of Interstate 30 Monday.

The accident occurred when a westbound 18-wheeler veered off to the right leaving I-30 and plowing through a wooded area near the Leary exit about 9:25 a.m., said DPS Trooper Chris Barker.

Barker said the accident occurred after the truck driver, Avery Bryant, 49, apparently fell asleep at the wheel and veered off the roadway.
