A public hearing Wednesday will review an attempt by Waste Management Inc. to acquire millions of dollars in capital improvement bonds.

The national waste collection company is seeking bonds from the Mission Economic Development Corp. that cannot exceed $260 million. But a very small percentage of that is anticipated to be used here.

Just over $7 million is earmarked for infrastructure upgrades at the New Boston landfill, where Waste Management hauls its garbage. Another $3.3 million would go to capital improvements at the office and shop facility on West Seventh Street...
