Former Wake Village Police Chief Tony Estes has filed a civil lawsuit against the City of Wake Village based on his April 9 termination.

According to the suit filed last week, Estes said he was terminated because he “contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation to report the misappropriation of federal funds by Mayor (Mike) Huddleston and had assisted in the FBI’s investigation of such.” The lawsuit further claims Estes was fired in violation of the Texas Whistle Blower Statute.
