An out-of-court settlement was reached about 11:30 p.m. Sunday in a lawsuit between the city of Nashville and Howard County and the family of a Nashville, Ark., man who died while under arrest.

Larry D. “Nicky” Hill Jr. died Sept. 13, 2003 in the Howard County jail after he was arrested for allegedly operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or other substances.

A federal lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court Western District of Arkansas Texarkana Division by Carla Hill, as administratrix of the Hill estate.
