Remember local laws on use of holiday fireworks

Texarkana, Texas, officials are reminding residents that possessing or setting off fireworks in the city limits is illegal and police will be on the lookout for them over the Fourth of July weekend.

Hand-held sparklers are permitted, but according to the city’s code of ordinances, all other fireworks are banned.

The ordinance prohibits the personal use, sale or gifting of fireworks, or possession with the intent to use, sell or give away.

However, retail sales are permitted.
