The Texarkana, Ark., School District Board of Trustees worked Tuesday night with school administrators to fine tune the 2008-2009 parent/student handbook.

The changes include a new detention hall at the high school, rules regarding possession of a cell phone and new attendance rules.

At Arkansas High School, a detention hall has been added before and after school to curb small infractions of the student policy.

Also, the fifth time a student is found in possession of or using a cell phone, the principal will recommend expulsion from school.
