A hearing Wednesday to gain public input on millions of dollars in bonds for Waste Management Inc. was attended by no one.

Hearing officer Jean Gard is charged with staying 15 minutes from the meeting’s start time, just to make sure no one comes in late, and said the hearings seldom draw a crowd.

“It’s really very straightforward,” she said. “No one ever comes.”

Waste Management is requesting $260 million for projects in Texas. Mission Economic Development Corp. is the bond issuer.
