Deputy: Patching up jail not enough

Sevier County Sheriff John Partain theorizes prisoners being locked up 24 hours a day can become “geniuses” at figuring out how to damage the jail.

Miller County Chief Deputy Tommy Hollin understands. The Miller County jail has been damaged by more than one “genius.”

“They’ve got 24 hours a day to figure out what they can do next,” Hollin said.

Two Miller County prisoners reportedly figured out how to use a paper clip to “short out” the electric circuit on the locks of cell doors.
