Fast-thinking friends find help for young victim of snake bite

Three boys exploring the countryside near Ashdown ran into trouble Monday when 10-year old Kindle Thompson was bitten by a snake.

“He fell down and said he thought he got bit,” said Stephan Sanders, 11. “We thought at first he was playing a joke.”

The other friend present was 11-year-old K.J. Walker.

The boys soon figured out it was no joke when they caught a glimpse of the snake slithering away and saw the fang marks distinguishable on Kindle’s ankle. None of the boys got a good enough look to identify whether the snake was poisonous.
