Although Texarkana’s public transportation system is feeling the effects of fuel prices, some passengers have faith that impact won’t be reflected in daily fares.

“They’re not going up,” said Danny Barnes, who believes a scripture promises affordable transportation.

“I trust in the Lord with all my heart and all my soul,” he said. “He will provide all my needs ... including bus fare.”

A motorcycle wreck in high school left him visually impaired, so Barnes doesn’t drive. But he boards T-Line every day it runs and travels all over Texarkana.
