As travelers seek out the cheapest means of transportation, fuel prices are having a mixed effect in Texarkana’s transportation sector.

Some companies feel the burn, while others say they aren’t bothered.

“The days of free snacks and beverages are history,” said Stephen Luebbert, Texarkana Regional Airport director.

“If the cost of fuel continues to climb, the next step is a reduction in service, followed by ticket pricing that may go beyond what the Texarkana market can afford.”
