Texarkana Regional Airport officials will hold a pre-construction meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday centering on the airport’s new Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting station.

Last month, the Airport Authority Board accepted a federal grant of more than $2.4 million, which will pay for 95 percent of the ARFF’s third phase of construction.

The first phase—the building’s design—is complete.

The second phase, the airport’s new emergency access road on the south side, is now more than 96 percent complete.
