The Texarkana, Texas, Fire Department and police patrolled the city this year and responded to fireworks complaints, seizing fireworks and writing citations.

“We filled a 55-gallon drum with (fireworks),” said Fire Marshal Capt. Chris Black of the TTFD. “Pick something, I bet it’s in there.”

Black said this was the first year for the TTFD to take an active role enforcing the fireworks ordinance.
