Community Healthcore is celebrating the grand opening of The Percolator coffeehouse today at 218 W. Broad St. in the former Cinema 218 building.

This isn’t a run-of-the-mill coffee shop, as it will be operated by individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities and mental retardation.

“We want to let everyone get to know exactly what we are doing there, what we are offering and the way we train individuals with disabilities,” says Tammye Hinerman, program manager for MR services, of the opening celebration.
